TBC Eagles Volleyball continues to show positive signs as evidenced in their strong performance in the annual South Region North-South Kickoff Classic. TBC hosted this year's event, and although they did not win, the home team showed they are ready to make a much bigger run against South Region competition.

The best performance came against perennial South Region and National contender Pensacola Christian College. In the team's final match of the showcase on Saturday, TBC won the first set 25-19 before PCC took the next three. Saturday also saw Trinity Baptist battle Trinity College of Florida to scores of 20-25, 20-25, and 13-25.

Toccoa Falls College and 2023 NCCAA Division 2 National Champion Bob Jones University also participated but got wins over TBC on Friday. Pensacola Christian and Bob Jones battled each other through five seesaw sets on Saturday in the longest match of the Classic.

Coach Carlin Poyner was proud of how hard her team played all weekend. "The Eagles fought hard in each game," she said, "taking every point as a lesson to get better. As we continue in the season, we are hopeful for continued growth within our team."

The Eagles will resume their regular schedule with a tri-match at Pensacola Christian College, where they will have a rematch with PCC and also play Agnes Scott College. The Eagles are then home against Florida State College at Jacksonville on September 16 and Keiser University on September 20.
