Volleyball: Eagles Battle at Tri-Match with Agnes Scott, PCC

TBC Eagles Volleyball racked up 44 kills with 37 of them coming in one match during their tri-match at Pensacola Christian College on Saturday. Those 37 kills came against NCAA Division 3 Agnes Scott College as that match was very tight in three of the four sets. Agnes Scott, however, came from behind late in Set 4 to secure the win 3-1. Pensacola Christian defeated TBC 3-0.

Agnes Scott 3, Eagles 1

After Agnes Scott won a thrilling first set 25-22 in which neither team led by more than two except for an early TBC five-point run, the two teams battled in Set 2 to eight ties and three lead changes and a margin of 1 or 2 all the way until Trinity won three of the last four points to win 25-22.

Set 3 was all Agnes Scott (25-13), and Set 4 was a repeat of the first two. After a seesaw battle to a 19-17 TBC lead, the Eagles surged to score four of the next six points to go ahead 23-19. Agnes Scott, though, refused to quit, and they came back to go ahead 24-23. The teams traded the next four points to a 26-26 tie before Agnes Scott finished the match with two in a row at 28-26.
