Women’s Soccer: Eagles Open Season at Warner University

TBC Eagles Women's Soccer opened the 2024 season at Warner University on Saturday and scored the game's first two goals. However, Warner answered with two of their own before the first 10 minutes passed. Warner then went on to win 11-2.

Laine Ford  and Hana Lohmann got TBC on the board within the game's first four minutes.

At just 3:41 into the game, Ford lofted a direct free kick from approximately 25 yards out near the top of the arc over the head of the Warner keeper; the ball hit the crossbar and with its spin rebounded down across the line for Trinity's first goal of the season.

Lohman made the score 2-0 only 10 seconds later when she intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper at the top of the box and slapped the ball in from the arc.

Trinity totaled four shots, all on goal; two came from Mikeska and one each came from Lohmann and Abigail Mendoza.

Warner tied the score with two goals from Clarissa Chew in Minutes 8 and 10 then scored three more in the first half and six in the second half. Warner had four players each score twice.

The Eagles will play their home opener against NAIA Point University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31. A trip to NAIA Keiser University follows on September 2 before TBC plays its first games within the South Region vs. Campbellsville University Harrodsburg and Toccoa Falls College on September 7 and 9, respectively; both games are at Toccoa Falls College.
