Men's Soccer: Eagles Defeat Toccoa Falls for Second Time

Casey Cuprit started the scoring early, and the defense made it tough on the opposition as TBC Eagles Men's Soccer notched its second South Region win in 10 days with a solid 3-1 victory at Toccoa Falls College in North Georgia. The win puts the Eagles three games over .500 for the season and keeps them undefeated against non-NAIA scholarship opponents.

Cuprit scored just five minutes after the opening kickoff with the assist coming from Christopher Dickey.

[Casey Cupit scored the game's first goal on route to the win.]

That goal would stand as the lone tally for the next 15 minutes before Ashton Karney made the score 2-0 with an unassisted goal in Minute 20, and that was all the Trinity scoring for the remainder of the first half.

Toccoa Falls got a penalty-kick goal from Judah Berry in Minute 30, but that was the only shot that got past goalkeeper Mason Lambert, who saved 9 of 10 total shots on goal he faced. Six of those saves came in the second half when Toccoa attackers fired 11 times.

[Mason Lambert is fourth in NCCAA D-2 with a save percentage of 79.2.]

The Eagles took only five shots all night, but they made those shots count as three found nylon. The game's final goal came from Jason Campbell just a few minutes into the second half.

Campbell is #9 in the nation in goals scored with six.

The Eagles have four games remaining with a reschedule of an earlier game still possible in addition. TBC will visit the South Region's Bob Jones University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5. A home-and-home two-game series with NAIA Florida College occurs on October 11 and 19 with the Eagles visiting first. The regular season ends with a home contest against the South Region's Pensacola Christian College on Saturday. October 26.
