Volleyball: Eagles Head West to Play Baptist University of Florida

TCJ Eagles Volleyball traveled to Graceville on Saturday to face the South Region's newest team, the Eagles of Baptist University of Florida. Trinity kept the match close most of the way, but Baptist won in three sets by scores of 25-15, 13, and 16. 

In the first two sets, Baptist took early leads and built from there. Trinity kept the scores close until Baptist forged runs midway and late.  

Set 3 was back-and-forth early as TCJ held leads of 3-0, 4-1, 6-5, and 8-7. Baptist, though, broke a 9-9 tie and soon took a 15-12 lead. Baptist then scored the next 6 points to pull away. The teams traded points to 23-16 before Baptist scored the final two points to win the match.

The Eagles will play a pair of tri-matches in North Carolina against four NCAA Division 3 teams on Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11. On Friday, Trinity will play Johnson and Wales of Charlotte and Guilford College at Johnson and Wales. On Saturday, the opponents are Greensboro College and North Carolina Wesleayn in Greensboro. 

The next home event is a tri-match against Baptist University of Florida and Paine College on Friday, October 17.
