Volleyball: Eagles Take Trinity College of Florida to Five Exciting Sets
After dropping an exciting back-and-forth first set, TBC Eagles Volleyball stormed back to win the next two and eventually play five in the regular-season opener on the road at Trinity College of Florida. The TFCL Tigers, however, had a fast start to Set 5 and held on for the win.
Set scores were 21-25, 26-24, 26-24, 11-25, and 7-15.
Jani'ce Foster led the attacking game with 12 kills, and Harli Mosley Led the Eagles with 4 service aces.
Also piling up the kills was Finley Poyner with 8 while also digging 9 balls off the floor.
Defensively, Alexus Spann (19), Kacey Brown (14), Kristin Andrews (13), and Ashlee Shaw (11) led with double-digit digs.
The two teams played two more seesaw sets to 26-24 scores in the second and third, both in favor of the Eagles. Set 4 went to the Tigers, and TCFL's hot start to Set 5 led to the win.
The Eagles will play a tri-match at Toccoa Falls College with Toccoa Falls and NAIA Brewton-Parker College on Saturday, August 31.
The first regular-season home games are part of the annual North-South Showcase, and Trinity Baptist will host. Participating South Region teams include Bob Jones University, Pensacola Christian College, and Toccoa Falls College. Trinity College of Florida will also participate despite having changed their affiliation to the USCAA.
The North-South games will run on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7. See the full schedule here.
