Women’s Soccer: Eagles Complete Two-Game Trip to North Georgia

Laine Ford scored on a free kick for the second time this season, but that was the only goal the team would get as TBC Eagles Women's Soccer played two South Region matches with Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg and Toccoa Falls College. CUH won Monday night's affair 3-1, and Toccoa Falls took the Wednesday matinee 2-0.

Monday: CUH 3, Eagles 1

Monday night against Campbellsville, Ford set up for the free kick approximately 28 yards out and center cut after the Eagles drew a foul. Ford lofted the ball high over the goalkeeper and into the top right corner of the net for her second goal of the season; her first (at Warner) was of the same nature.

Goalkeeper Brandalynn Sims saved 6 of 9 shots on goal faced.

The Eagles took 12 total shots, and 7 were on goal. However, CUH goalkeeper Madison Teague stopped 6 of them, including 3 on goal in 4 attempts from Hana Lohmann and 2 of 4 from Caitlynn Lewis.

Wednesday: Toccoa Falls 2, Eagles 0

Versus Toccoa Falls, Sims saved 5 of 7 shots on goal faced. Ellie Mikeska had 2 of 3 shot attempts reach goal, and Abigail Mendoza took aim as well.

Toccoa Falls received a goal each from Maddie DeSilva and Jenny Jaffe.
