Women's Basketball: #8 Eagles Finish Season with Thriller at #3 Pensacola Christian
Emma Parrish and Travesha Giddens combined for 56 points, and Victoria Broadway set a new season high as #8 TCJ Eagles Women's Basketball battled #3 Pensacola Christian College down to the final minute in the season finale. PCC won the game 92-84, but Trinity showed they will be a force in the upcoming South Region Tournament in the coming week. The TCJ Eagles are the #4 team in scoring average in NCCAA Division 2.
Parrish closed out her regular-season career with a 33-point performance, her 2nd 30+ game, 7th 20+, and 20th double-digit game of the season counting all games played. Parrish sank 8 field goals, two of them threes, and all 15 of her foul shots to amass her 33 points. She scored 27 of those points in the first half. She assisted 6 more scores.

Parrish finsihes the season ranked #2 at both 105 free throws made and 128 attempted and #4 at 83.3% at the line in official games played. She is #5 in total shots made at 118.
Giddens was 11 for 16 from the field and finishes the regular season as the nation's leader in field goal percentage at 53.9% in official games played, a full 1.7% more than her closest follower. Giddens also had 5 steals and 13 rebounds. She is #16 in the nation with 8.6 rebounds per official game.

Broadway's 15 points came on 7-for-9 shooting from the field and 1 for 1 at the line.

After falling behind 11-2, Trinity stormed back to within 1 point at 20-19 with 2:08 left in the first and again at 22-21 with 1:41 left, but PCC's Sky Boyd hit two foul shots of her own as part of her 41-point performance. Boyd was 16 for 21 from the field and 9 for 15 at the line for an incredible regular-season finale. Boyd leads the nation with 205 shots made and is #3 at 50.4% from the field.
Trinity outscored PCC 28-22 to take a a 49-46 lead into halftime. Parrish (14) and Giddens (6) combined for 20 of those points, and Caroline Smith got 5 of her 9 in the same frame. M'lani Vitela and Laila Harvey each sank a free throw to aid the TCJ Eagles in scoring.
The game featured 7 ties and 6 lead changes, and neither team led by more than 10 at any time. The eight-point margin stemmed primarily from the third quarter. In Quarters 1, 2, and 4, the two teams played evenly at 70-70. However, in the third, PCC outscored TCJ 22-14. Overall, PCC made 1 more deucel, 5 more three-pointers, and 1 more free throw for the 8-point difference. Trinity shot 49% from the field, hit 3 three-pointers, and made 23 of 28 (83%) from the line. Pensacola Christian shot 41%, made 8 three-pointers, and sank 24 of 30 (80%) foul shots.
South Region Tournament
The regular season has ended, and the South Region Tournament will run from Thursday to Saturday, February 26-28. Seedings and scheduling will come soon. The tournament will take place at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, Georgia.
