Women's Basketball: Eagles Fall to Abraham Baldwin

Despite a 21-point performance and two more in double figures, TCJ Eagles Women's Basketball came up short against the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Monday. The Eagles started off hot, but ABAC took the lead late in the first quarter and did not reliquish that lead on route to an 88-64 win.

Emma Parrish was 9 for 9 at the line and connected 6 times from the field to lead the Eagles with 21 points to set a new season high. M'lani Vitela followed with 17 on five shots (2 threes) and 5 free throws. Caroline Smith also hit double figures for the seventh time with 10 points.

Trinity also got 8 points from Travesha Giddens, 3 each from Victoria Broadway and Laila Harvey, and 2 from Alexandra Perez. Smith, Giddens, and Kirsten Joseph all had seven rebounds, and with her 7, Giddens ranks #8 in NCCAA Division 2 at 10.1 rebounds per official game played as of the end of Monday's contest.

Once again, the Eagles got to the line often and converted the bulk of the shots, 25 of 36. However, ABAC used 9 three-pointers and scored 37 points off turnovers to help build their lead and put up the final score. Brianna Wimberly sank 5 of those three-pointers, and leading scorer Reese Riddle hit three. Riddle led the court with 22 points, and Wimberly scored 15. In between was Shakiria Chaney with 22 to help ead the Stallions.

The Eagles have one final game remaining in 2025; they will visit NJCAA USC Salkehatchie for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off on Friday, December 19. The first game of 2026 is at USCAA Denmark Technical College on January 6, and the Eagles will then begin South Region competition by hosting Toccoa Falls College and Bob Jones University on January 10 and 12, respectively.
