Women's Basketball: Smith Tops 20 to Lead Court, Eagles Fall to Champion Christian
Caroline Smith came home from Pensacola with an average of 21 points per game in as TCJ Women's Basketball split two at the PCC Classic to open the season. After winning the season opener on Friday, TCJ fell 91-51 to Champion Christian College on Saturday. Smith, however, led all scorers with 24 points to give herself 42 in the two games to start her senior season.
Smith shot 6 for 14 from the field and 12 for 14 from the line to compile her 24 points.

Smith was the only Eagle in double figures in points scored. She also totaled 9 rebounds and assisted 1 other score in 31 minutes.
Fellow senior Emma Parrish played all 40 minutes and totaled 8 points, including a terrific 5-for-6 perforamnce at the line; her firt two foul shots were the game's first two points.
M'Lani Vitela scored 6 while Laila Harvey totaled 5 and Victoria Broadway and Alexandra Perez each added 4.
Champion Christian got points from 10 different players with 6 of them scoring 10 or more. Jordan Hammons led with 15. Brinley Morgan and Riani Benton each finished with 12, and Jaylen Edmonson and Natalia Silva each totaled 11.
The Eagles will play an exhibition game at NAIA Keiser Univesity at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3. The first home game is against NAIA Florida National University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6. An exhibition at NCAA Division 1 South Carolina State University follows on Veterans' Day before two home games on November 14 and 20 take the Eagles into the Thanksgiving break.
