Victoria Broadway tied her season high of 12 points by making 6 shots of her own, and Caroline Smith scored 10 to hit double digits for the Eagles.
The score remained very tight through the first three quarters, and TBC led 41-37 at the start of the fourth. Smith, Henriquez, and Kirsten Joseph each combined for the first three scores of the period (Henriquez's was a three-pointer) to extend the Eagles' lead to 11. The teams played evenly from there to the end, but TBC held the Chargers to only 7 points in the 4th quarter while shooting 50% in scoring 14 to put the game away.
Southeastern Baptist jumped out to a 9-2 lead more than midway through the first quarter before the Eagles finished the period on an 8-1 run to tie the score at 10-10. As SEB started to pull away in the second, Henriquez drained a three that stole the momentum, and the Eagles fought back to take a 2-point lead at halftime. Trinity built that lead to 9 late in the third, but the Chargers closed to within 4 by the period's end.
Ranajala Brown and Joseph each scored 6 points, Laila Harvey contributed 4, and Alexis Hall added 2.
Trinity will play the semifinal round against the #1 team and defending national champion Pensacola Christian College at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday. The winner will play for the South Region Championship at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
