Four Eagles topped double digits in scoring with freshman Reniyah Clark leading the way in her collegiate debut as TBC Eagles Women's Basketball opened the season on Saturday against the Conquistadors of NAIA Florida National University. Clark led the Eagles with 19 points in her first game and finished third overall. FNU, though, had two players top 20 in their 79-66 win.

Ranajala Brown caught fire in the second half, in which she scored 11 of her 17 total points, and Victoria Broadway spread her 12 points fairly evenly throughout the four quarters.

After a first quarter in which Florida National took a sizeable lead, the Eagles outscored the Conquistadors 57-55 the rest of the way, including each of the third and fourth quarters. The Eagles trimmed a 26-point deficit late in the third down to 19 with a 7-1 run then outscored FNU 19-16 in the fourth, including 14-9 in the game's final minutes.

Sophomore Laila Harvey and the Eagles dedicated today's game to the memory of Harvey's mother, Ms. Stephanie Bryant, who attended all of TBC's home games last season.

Harvey scored 11 points, pulled in 5 rebounds, and stole 5 possessions in her first game of the season. Harvey sank a three-pointer as part of her season-opening performance.
