Softball: Pitcher, First Baseman Jordan McClain Joins the Eagles
Excelling at collegfe athletics take tralent and dertermination. An athlete who excels at multiple poistions is a special find. Jordan McClain can hit, pitch, and plat first base. She brings excellent performance records to the Eagles and adds depth to the pitching rotation.
Jordan McClain -- Ruskin, Florida
Jordan attended Class 6A Lennard High School, where she played four years of varsity softball for the Longhorns under head coach Cody Slater and assitant coaches Pete Leto and Ron Slater. Jordan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron and Natalie McClain.
Jordan won her team's Most Valuable Player award and was named the Pitcher of the Week on March 24.
As a senior, Jordan hit .455 with a triple, 3 doubles, and 21 RBI. She also had an on-base percentage of .458 and an OPS of .984.
In the circle, Jordan was 4-5 with a spectacular 1.98 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched and allowed only 5 extra-base hits.
Jordan also played softball at Sumer High School in Riverview from 2022 to 2024 and travel ball for the Crush Fast Pitch under Coach McBurrows.
When asked why she chose Trinity College of Jacksonville, Jordan cited the Spiritual atmosphere she sensed upon her visits. "I chose Trinity," she said, "because of the way they walk in faith with strong Christian values and always put students and academics first. I was also interested in TCJ's education program."
After college, Jordan plans to become a 3rd-grade teacher and make a positive impact on children's lives through education.
"For softball, my favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 60:22 because this verse reminds me to trust God's timing and stay patient through every step of my journey," she said. "For life, it is John 3:16 because it reflects God's love and faithfulness."
The Eagles welcome Jordan McClain to the TCJ family.
