Softball: Natalee Tidwell Brings Extra-Base Prowess to the Eagles

TCJ Eagles Softball heach coach Rob Blackmer has found a mighty hitter who can get on base and drive in runs. Natalee Tidwell is an extra-base machine whose hits are over 71% doubles or triples. That production will fit well in any position of the Eagles' lineup.

Natalie Tidwell -- Lecanto, FL

Natalle graduated from Seven Rivers Christian School, where she played varsity softball for the Warriors for six years beginning in 7th grade under head coach Gary Dreyer and assitant coach Bethany Tidwell.

The Warriors won the Sunshine State Athletic Association championship four consecutiove times during Natalee's tenure. Personally, she made All-County in her final two years and was the team MVP as both a junior and senior.

This past season as a senior, Natalee hit .700 (35 for 50) with 18 doubles, 7 triples, and 29 RBI in 18 games played. She had an OPS of 2.086. Natalee also pitches and averages over 1 strikeout per inning.

When asked why she chose Trinity College of Jacksonville, Natalee cited the familiarity she sensed upon her visits. "I chose Trinity because of how close it felt to home and how closely it resembles my high school," she said. "I want to grow my relationship with God while in college, and Trinity felt like that perfect place for me.

After college, Natalee plans to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:22, which says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

The Eagles welcome Natalee Tidwell to the TCJ family.
