TCJ Eagles Softball honored their five 2026 seniors before Saturday's double-header with the South Region's Baptist University of Florida. Student assistant Madison Williford, third-baseman Kylea Duhig, catcher Ashlee Shaw, infielder Ellarie McGatha, and pitcher/infielder Piper Young were all recognized for their achievements as TCJ student athletes. Although Baptist won both games (6-1, 11-6), all contributed in the action.

• Duhig drove in Trinity's lone run in Game 1. She lauched a deep sacrifice fly that only the howling wind blowing straight in kept in the ballpark. The fly followed Cali Dunn's 1-out triple to right and allowed Dunn to
• score. She also drew a walk in Game 2. 
• Shaw walked once in Game 1 and scored twice in Game 2. She reached on an error in the 3rd inning of the nightcap and scored on a wild throw on a grounder off the bat of McGatha. Shaw reached on a fielder's choice in the 6th and scored on Young's 2-run triple. 
• McGatha scored 3 times in Game 2. After her ground ball in the 3rd, McGatha crossed the plate on Nicole Yi's sacrfice fly to the warning track. In the 5th, McGatha walked, advanced to third on Yi's base hit, and scored on Autumn Eady's ground ball. In the 6th, she reached on an error and scored on Young's triple.
• Young pitched her 12th complete game of the season in the opener, and only 3 of the runs were earned. She allowed 10 hits, walked none, and struck out 6. As a hitter in Game 2, Young was 2 for 4 with a two-run triple. She is hitting .358 and is tied with Dunn and Yi for the team lead in RBI at the close of play on Saturday.
• Williford is a former TCJ Eagles softball player and serves as the team manager in 2026. She also helps keep stats on both GameChanger and the official PrestoStats. 

Yi homered in the bottom of the 7th in Game 2, and her sacrifice fly in the 3rd would have cleared the fence for a grand slam if not for the wind. Yi was 3 for 6 on the day with a double, a home run, a run scored, and two driven in. The home run was her second of the season. 

Dunn was 3 for 4 with a run scored. Peyton Flynt had a pinch hit in Game 1 and another knock in Game 2. 

The Eagles will have some time off before playing their final home games of the season vs. NCAA Division 2 Edward Waters University on Tuesday, April 13. The Eagles will then visit Baptist University of Florida for a rematch twin bill on Saturday, April 18, before finishing up the season with two more game dates on the road.
