The inning started with the Eagles trailing 2-0. Jessica Johnson and Ashlee Shaw led off with walks, and the duo pulled off a double steal. Johnson then scored the first run on a passed ball, and Young singled in Shaw. Kylea Duhig doubled to put Young at third to set up Foster's squeeze bunt.

The offense was just enough for Young, who pitched a complete game for the win. Young allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. The defense was very solid behind her. Both runs scored in the bottom of the second.
