Men's Soccer: Eagles Fall to Bob Jones in South Region Match

TCJ Men's Soccer visited South Region rival Bob Jones University on Tuesday in what could decide the top seed in this year's tournament. Trinity held the Bruins to two goals in the first half, but BJU broke out for four in the second on route to a 6-1 win.

Noah Amesbury tied the score at 1-1 with an uassisted goal in Minute 41. Amsebury found a loose ball after a BJU defender blocked a shot attempt from Jah'Kelsen Jeune. Amesbuy controlled the high bounce and connected to the left side of the net to tie the score at 1-1 with his fourth goal of the season. Bob Jones's Fiston Issa scored the first BJU goal only three minutes eariler; the Bruins retook the lead 1:31 later just before the half ended. BJU led 2-1 at the break.

The Bruins the got goals from six different men, including four in the second half. 

Trinity totaled 7 shots with both of Amesbury's on goal. TCJ goalkeper Christian David saved 5 of 9 shots on goal faced in his 70+ minutes of work, and Colby Callahan saved 2 of 4 in approximately 20 minutes. 

The Eagles will finish their strecth of seven straight road games with a stop at the South Region's Carolina Christian College on Saturday, October 3, and a trip to Daytona Beach for a battle with NCAA Division 2 Embry Riddle University on Wednesday, October 8. The next two are at home against NAIA Florida National University on October 14 and South Region rival Toccoa Falls College on Homecoming Saturday, October 18.
