Men’s Soccer: Eagles Get South Region Win over Toccoa Falls
Two first-half goals gave the Eagles the lead, and Christian David made sure the two were enough as TCJ Men's Soccer defeated Toccoa Falls College 2-1 in a battle between the two South Region rivals. Toccoa cut the deficit in half before the break, but David and the defense held strong in the second half to secure the win.
Aaron Uribe came up from the backfield to take a free direct kick in Minute 16. The foul happened when Christy Kerry Jean Francois got sandwiched between two Toccoa defenders while preparing to shoot. Uribe fired past the Toccoa goalkeeper from approximately 26 yards out and connected for his third goal of the season to put Trinity ahead 1-0.

Ten minutes later, Nicolas Ortiz took a pass from David deep on TCJ's defensive side of the pitch. Ortiz dribbled up the left sideline past two Toccoa defenders. From the left side of the penalty box, Ortiz (assist) found Moreno wide open seven yards in front of a defender and made a perfect pass. With the goalkeeper moving to Moreno's right, Moreno tapped the ball just left of center from inside the goal box for his fifth goal of the season and an insurance goal the Eagles would need.

Toccoa answered in Minute 40 when Patricio Bennevendo shot one into the top of the net after getting the pass from Dylan Edmonds on the left side of the 18-yard box.
Trinity took 9 total first-half shots to Toccoa's 7, but both defenses tightened up even more in the second. Toccoa outshot Trinity 4-3 in the second half, but David saved both shots on goal while Toccoa goalkeeper Clark Allen saved all three of Trinity's shots on goal.
Both teams totaled 8 shots on goal with Trinity firing off 12 times and Toccoa doing so 11 in the very even match-up.
Moreno took 4 total shots with 2 on goal, and both of Uribe's attempts were on goal. Richard Bernardo de Lima attempted 2 shots, and four more teammates each tried 1.
