Men's Basketball: Eleven Eagles Score in D-1 Exhibition at UNF

Seventeen Eagles got minutes, and 11 of them scored points as TCJ Eagles Men's Basketball played its first exhibition game with an NCAA Division 1 opponent this season. On Saturday, the team visited Jacksonville's University of North Florida for an early-evening match-up. Three Eagles scored in double figures, and a strong second half made the game interesting, but the UNF Ospreys won 111-67.

After a tough first half, Trinity shot 46% from the field in the second, including 8 of 19 (42%) from three-point range. The Eagles also shot well at the line throughout the game, sinking 71% (10 for 14) of the free throws.

Diego Fernandez scored all 15 of his points in the second half. He hit 4 total shots from the field, including 3 three-pointers, and 4 of 5 shots from the line. Jayden Little and Maximus Fuentes each scored 10 in slightly different ways. Little used a three-pointer, a free throw, and three deuces to compile his new season high in scoring. Fuentes was 3 for 9 from the field and 4 for 5 at the line to get his sixth double-digit point total of the season in 9 total games.
