Men's Basketball: Eagles Play Tough but Fall to Champion Christian

Nine Eagles scored points, and four reached in double figures in Game #2 for TCJ Eagles Men's Basketball. The Eagles shot impressive totals from the field and three-point range, but Champion won both halves on route to a 99-72 win.

Tayden Owens led all scorers with 16 points on 50% shooting from the field and 7 for 8 at the line. Diego Fernandez had his second straight 12-point game, which included his draining 6 of 7 free throws. Josh Bledsoe (11) and Maximus Fuentes (10) also scored in double figures. Bledsoe averaged 1 point per minute, hitting 3 of 4 shots from the field 5 of 6 foul shots. 

Overall the Eagles shot 42% from the field, including 45% in the second half. They totaled 5 three-pointers from Fuentes (2), Owens, Jayden Little, and Jesse Mitchell. Alex Dawson contributed 7 points while Little added 5, Brandon Hill and Adrian Walker each added 4, and Mitchell tallied 3. 

The Eagles will play their first home game at 8:00 p.m. on November 6 when NAIA Florida National University comes to Trinity Gymnasium. A JV/Varsity home double-header with South Region newcomwe Baptist University of Florida on Veterans' Day, November 11. Lake City's Florida Gateway College visits TCJ on November 15 before the Eagles hit the road again.
