Men's Basketball: Fernandez Notches 11th Straight Double-Digit Game Monday at D-2 Palm Beach Atlantic

Diego Fernandez led the team in scoring, and seven teammates contributed points as TBC Eagles Men's Basketball began a stretch of three in a row against NCAA Division 2 opponents in their final week of tune-up before South Region play begins in January. Fernandez scored 17 points and was second overall on the court, but Palm Beach Atlantic University won the game 111-56.

Fernandez was 7 for 17 from the field and 3 for 4 at the line to compile his team high. He divided his points evenly over the two halves with 8 in the first and 9 in the second.

Fernadez has reached double digits in all games this season regardless of opponent or status.

DJ Thompson followed with 9 points on a 4-for-6 performance from the field and a successful foul shot in his only attempt.

Overall, the Eagles shot 37% from the field, including a 47% second half. They hit 11 of 14 free throws and pulled in 32 rebounds.

Other point scorers for TBC include Brandon Hill and Gavin Korth-Loder with 6 each, Jacquez Anderson with 5, Ethan Bray and Ja'Maryus Pringle with 4 each, Ian Kanady with 3, and Jace Spinelli with 2.

Two more D-2 opponents come at the end of the week for TBC Men's Basketball at the Florida Tech Winter Classic in Orlando. First, the Eagles take on Florida Technical University at 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday then Lynn University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

After Christmas break, play will resume at the Welch College Classic in Gallatin, Tennesse, when the Eagles play Boyce CollegeWelch College and Campbellsville-Harrodsburg University on January 9, 10, and 11, respectively.
