Men's Basketball: Four Eagles Hit Double Digits vs. Clinton College

Brandon Hill was one of four Eagles to reach double digits Monday evening against a very powerful NCCAA Division 1 opponent. TBC Eagles Men's Basketball hosted Clinton College, who came in averaging in triple digits in scoring. TBC had a big second half, but Clinton opened an early lead and finished with a 90-73 win.

Hill, in just 17 minutes of work, scored 10 points overall for his first double-digit performance of the season. He scored 4 in the first half and 6 in the second. He was 5 for 7 from the field and pulled in three rebounds.

Xavier Rose caught fire in the second half, scoring 13 of his 15 total points. He got many of those points on fast-break lay-ins after teammates found him wide open off some of the Eagles' 40 defensive rebounds and 5 steals. DJ Thompson and Zach Kiadii each finished with 11 to help lead the offense.

Clinton, however, tied the score at 2-2 less than two minutes in and never trailed again. The Golden Bears entered play averaging 104.5 points per game through their first five official contests. TBC is only the third team of now seven opponents (official or exhibition) to keep them under 100. They gradually built that lead to 15 at the intermission with the score 44-29. Cam Shannon (24) and Isaiah Stone (21) topped 20 points, and two teammates, RJ Bell (12) and Paul Eromosele (11), also reached double digits.

Trinity scored 44 points in the second half on 48.7% shooting and 5 three-pointers, led by Rose, Kiadii (11 points), and Thompson (7). Kiadii buried three threes in his strong second half.

Jace Spinelli totaled 8 points for the Eagles while Jacquez Anderson used a pair of threes to finish with 6; Oramis Figuereo scored 4; and Diego Fernandez, Gavin Korth-Loder, and Ian Kanady each contributed 2.

The Eagles will next play a pair of exhibition games at two high-level NCAA competitors. First, TBC visits Division 1 Bethune-Cookman University later in the week, and the week will end with a visit to Division 2 Valdosta State University.

South Region play begins on November 30 when the Eagles visit Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, Mississippi. A stop at the South Region rival Pensacola Christian College follows the next day.
