Baseball: Williams, Brigman Named NCCAA All-Americans
Postseason honors continue for juniors Gavin Williams and Jacob Brigman. On May 26, the NCCAA announced the Baseball All-Americans, and both Williams and Brigman -- after being named All-South Region two weeks prior -- made the second-team All-American roster.
Jr. Gavin Williams, OF
Williams batted .405 this season (#23 in the nation) with a team record-tying 5 home runs and 30 RBI. He had 13 doubles and a triple for a slugging percentage of .664. His 20 walks and 4 hit batsmen give him an on-base percentage of .504 (#26). Williams also stole 8 bases in 9 attempts and scored 39 runs (tied for #71). Three of his five home runs came against South Region opponents, including one in the South Region tournament, during which he hit .545 in three games.
All this came in 142 plate appearances and 116 official at bats. In the field, Williams committed only 1 error in 39 total chances and threw out 2 base runners.
Jr. Jacob Brigman, P
For the second consecutive year, Brigman is an All-American pitcher. The junior southpaw broke the TCJ career strikeout record by recording 68 during the 2026 season (#20 in the NCCAA), averaging nearly 1 per inning in 75.2 innings pitched (tied for #15). He has struck out 219 batters in his Trinity career, 53 more than the previous record. His 15th of the seaosn was the record breaker, and he still has another year to add to his total.
Brigman again led the team in wins (7) and ERA (4.28) among qualifiers and pitched a pair of complete games.
