Baseball: Eagles Walk Off Game 2 to Complete DH Sweep of Toccoa Falls
A walk-off win in Game 2 capped the double-header sweep, and TBC Eagles Baseball won the three-game series with South Region rival Toccoa Falls College 2 games to 1. TBC won Saturday's opener 7-4 to even the series before a thrilling nightcap made the home crowd happy.
Game 2: Eagles 3, Toccoa Falls 2 (11 Innings)
Dominic Gattinella beat out the relay throw to first to stave off the inning-ending double play, and Blake Bandy scored the game winner in walk-off fashion.
Bandy pinch ran for Jacob Brigman, who reached on an error with one out. Nate Nogueras followed with a base hit to right, and Bandy, who took off on the hit-and-run, raced to third ahead of the throw. Toccoa intentionally walked Logan McGann to bring up Gattinella.
The game-winning fielder's choice was Gattinella's second RBI of the game. He doubled home McGann (single, stolen base) in the second to tie the score at 1-1.
Toccoa regained the lead in the fifth, but Nogueras tied it up again with a base hit in the sixth that plated Larson Lott (double). Neither team scored again until the 11th.
Nogueras won it in relief with 3 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3. In the top of the 11th, a double steal put Toccoa runners at second and third with one out; Nogueras induced a ground ball at Seth Reeves, who looked the runners back and got the out at first. Nogueras then fanned the next man to end he threat. He also made a high-leaping catch at shortstop earlier to rob Toccoa of a hit and possible run.

Following his Game 1 save, Drew Billings pitched 4 scoreless innings after entering in the 5th with the bases loaded and nobody out. He got 2 popups, and after a hit batsman put Toccoa ahead 2-1, he then ended the inning and pitched three more.
Game 1: Eagles 7, Toccoa Falls 4
Trinity rallied for 5 runs in the second on 3 hits and 2 errors. TBC got RBI singles from Burke and Lott plus a run from Gattinella on a wild pitch. In among those plays was a missed grounder and overthrow from left that allowed both Reeves (single) and Onkst (walk) to score. Trinity led 5-0 at the inning's end.
Toccoa, though, got 4 back in the top of the third on RBI's from Aiden Dumas (bunt), Charlie Compton (ground ball), and Ryan McCarron (single) and a passed ball.
Trinity added single runs in the fifth and sixth to build the lead to 7-4.
Billings notched a two-inning save (8), allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while fanning 3.

Bandy won it in relief with 2.2 scoreless innings in which he served up only 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 1.
Both teams made many spectacular plays all throughout the series.

Trinity will host the South Region's Paine College on Friday (single) and Saturday (double-header), April 4 and 5. USCAA Atlantis University comes to town on April 11 and 12.
